The Outer Parkway (CSJ: 0921-06-283) is an approximately 21.5-mile proposed four-lane divided highway extending from I-69E (U.S. 77) near the North Cameron County Line to FM 1847. The project will provide a new east-west travel route through northeastern Cameron County and will connect with General Brant Road and I-69E (U.S. 77).
Project Highlight
The Outer Parkway is an important component of regional transportation planning. The project is intended to improve east-west connectivity and provide additional transportation capacity in northern Cameron County. Together with other planned regional improvements, the Outer Parkway will also support an additional hurricane evacuation route and enhance safe passage throughout the region to provide new location non-toll freeway.
Project Status
The environmental and preliminary engineering phases are currently ongoing. Right-of-way and utility coordination, design, and funding remain pending.
