West Parkway will be a four-laned tolled highway in existing UP-ROW from US 77/83 near SH 100 to the B&M Bridge. This toll road will allow better transit fluidity and convenience for all residents of Brownsville including international drivers from Mexico. The West Rail plan will call for the removal of Union Pacific railroad lines from Brownsville and Matamoros while the international rail portion of the B&M International Bridge will be relocated west of the cities. The highway will contain interchanges and connections at strategic locations and grade separated intersections for limited street crossings. Along with the development of this project, many intersections surveyed by the Cameron County Regional Mobility Authority will have heavy congestion alleviated and traffic will be redirected.
