EAST LOOP CORRIDOR

The East Loop Corridor Project will reduce congestion for local and regional passenger vehicles in the SH 48 corridor through Brownsville by providing an improved commercial vehicle facility from the Port of Brownsville to the Veterans Bridge at Los Tomates via this new four-lane facility. All first response vehicles, including local and regional police, fire, and EMS services, will have safe access in the South and East Sector of Brownsville. Along with this efficiency, we will see an enhance connectivity to the Brownsville/South Padre Island International Airport and the Airport Foreign Trade Zone. All inter nation trade-related truck traffic between the Port of Brownsville and the Veterans Bridge at Los Tomates will see a significant improvement in mobility. All these features will be in favor of economic development and growth for Cameron County. For more information concerning this project please click our resource links.
